Lawmakers approve revised National Master Plan for 2021–2030 period, vision toward 2050
VGP - The National Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed the revised National Master Plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Several important targets have been added, most notably the goal for the manufacturing and processing industry to account for around 28 percent of GDP, reflecting the objective of developing a modern and high–value-added production sector.
The Master Plan places special emphasis on strengthening disaster prevention and control capacity in the complex context of climate change. Supplementary contents include the construction and upgrading of infrastructure for flood prevention, landslide mitigation, urban drainage, natural resource and environmental protection, and proactive climate change adaptation.
The State will expand the implementation of programs on flash-flood and landslide prevention in midland and mountainous regions, enhance disaster forecasting and early-warning capabilities, build an early flood-warning system, and relocate residents from high-risk areas./.
