King Willem-Alexander expects to foster Viet Nam-Netherlands relations
VGP - King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander expressed his wish to foster the relations between the Netherlands and Viet Nam during his reception for Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam in the Hague, on September 13.
Ngo presented the Letters of Credentials of President Vo Van Thuong to King Willem-Alexander.
At the reception, the King recalled his visit to Viet Nam in 2011 when he was the Prince, expressing his delight to see outstanding developments and achievements in the bilateral relations.
The Netherlands has become a trusted partner and a top European investor of Viet Nam, he noted.
For his side, the Vietnamese Ambassador said, Viet Nam and the Netherlands established a strategic partnership on climate change adaptation and water management in 2010 and a strategic partnership on sustainable agriculture and food security in 2014.
This year, the two countries celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties, he said, adding that both have manifested their determinations to endorsing and expanding comprehensive cooperation in all spheres of economics, trade, climate change adaption, agriculture, renewable energy, and circular economy, towards sustainable development goals.
He congratulated the Netherlands on becoming a development partner of ASEAN, stating that he will do his utmost to promote the friendship and relationship between the two nations./.
