Pham made the above statement at ministry’s regular press conference in Ha Noi on March 23.

Indonesia, another ASEAN Member State, was also invited to the event, a move that reflects Japan’s appreciation for ties with ASEAN and its desire to upgrade the relationship with the bloc to a comprehensive partnership.

Viet Nam, said the Deputy Spokeswoman, highly values the strong and practical progress in ASEAN-Japan relations, as it is making positive contributions to the common goal of peace, security, stability and prosperity.

The Deputy Spokeswoman said that Viet Nam welcomes and stays ready to work with ASEAN countries and Japan to promote bilateral relations to a new height on the basis of solid foundations of the ASEAN-Japan relations over the past 50 years./.
