PM meets world leaders on G7 Outreach Summit in Canada

The two PMs agreed both sides should strengthen cooperation in advancing their extensive strategic partnership in a more practical and effective manner across all fields and fruitfully realizing the joint statements and agreements.
The two leaders also agreed that the two countries would soon ratify the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (
PM Abe committed to supporting Viet Nam to accelerate green agriculture and high-quality infrastructure development in favor of socio-economic development.
The two leaders agreed to foster coordination at multilateral forums as well as within ASEAN-Japan cooperation framework to contribute to beefing up peace, cooperation and development in the region.
PM Phuc took the occasion to invite PM Abe to the World Economic Forum on ASEAN, scheduled to take place in Viet Nam in September.
PM Phuc and Norway’s counterpart Erna Solberg discussed ways to foster bilateral cooperation, including measures to increase the European country’s investment in Viet Nam, especially in such fields like sea transport, shipbuilding, petroleum, aquaculture, renewable energy among others.
PM Phuc suggested the two countries collaborate in accelerating talks on a free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
He also suggested Norway back Viet Nam’s efforts to develop healthcare, eduation, water supply and environmental sanitation.
PM Phuc and Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina agreed to double efforts to consolidate the two countries’ traditional friendship and cooperation.
PM Phuc affirmed Viet Nam stands ready to offer long-term and stable rice supply to Banladesh.
He also called on Banladesh to advocate Viet Nam’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the tenure 2020-2021.
PM Phuc and French President Emmanuel Macron expressed their pleasure at the comprehensive advancements of the two countries’ strategic partnership. France is now one of the top European economic partners of Viet Nam.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen the effectiveness of their cooperative mechanisms, accelerate dialogues on strategic issues, and take measures to enhance trade and investment ties.
They also agreed to expand cultural exchanges and local-to-local cooperation.
PM Phuc invited the President and the PM of France to visit Viet Nam soon while President Macron said he expects to visit Viet Nam next year, pledging to convey the invitation to the French PM.
PM Phuc extended his congratulations to Mr. Giuseppe Conte who has been appointed the PM of Italy.
The two leaders vowed to continue bolstering the two countries’ strategic partnership both in depth and width.
PM Phuc thanked Italy for supporting Viet Nam’s bid to win a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council in the tenure 2020-2021.
He also invited PM Giuseppe Conte to visit Viet Nam soon and the Italian PM gladly accepted the invitation.
PM Phuc and Argentinian President Mauricio Macri shared their wish to further deepen the relationship between the two countries and continue facilitating bilateral trade exchanges.
The Argentinian President said he expects to visit Viet Nam in 2019 in a bid to foster the bilateral ties, adding that Argentinian FM planned to pay a visit to Viet Nam this July.
PM Phuc suggested the two countries beef up signing of agreements in order to improve legal framework for long-term cooperation.
On the same occasion, PM Phuc also met with Presidents of Haiti, Senegal and South Africa./.
