Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Japan and attendance at the expanded G7 summit marks an important milestone in elevating the two countries' relations to a new height, Yamada said.
This weekend’s G7 Summit will seek to address global issues such as energy security, food security, and climate change. As an important member of the Association of Southeast
Asian Nations (ASEAN), Viet Nam is expected to actively contribute to resolving key issues raised in the conference.
Besides, Yamada expected that the international community, especially countries in the southern hemisphere, would work with G7 to resolve challenges.
Regarding the investment sector, the diplomat praised Viet Nam’s success in attracting foreign investment and actively participating in economic cooperation frameworks, including CPTPP Agreement.
In a survey, Japanese businesses view the Vietnamese market as an attractive investment destination. There is plenty of room for Viet Nam to boost transport and energy infrastructure to attract more Japanese investors.
The Ambassador expressed his hopes that the two countries will discuss the realization of the FOIP initiative./.
