Ha Noi to launch fireworks to commemorate 70th Liberation Day

VGP - Ha Noi authorities will launch fireworks within 15 minutes, starting at 9:30 p.m. on October 9 in 30 venues to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Capital Liberation Day.

The main event will feature a high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks show at My Dinh National Stadium in Phu Do Ward, Nam Tu Liem District.

Other eight locations will host combined high-altitude and low-altitude displays, each featuring 600 fireworks in the following avenues:

- In front of the headquarters of Ha Noi Moi newspaper and the Ha Noi Post Office (Hoan Kiem District)

- Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho District)

- Dua Island, Thong Nhat Park, Le Dai Hanh Ward (Hai Ba Trung District)

- Van Quan Lake, Van Quan Ward (Ha Dong District)

- Son Tay Ancient Citadel (Son Tay Town)

- Project land of the regulating lake, Tam Hiep Commune (Thanh Tri District)

- Dong Anh District Sports and Physical Training Center

Each of the remaining 22 districts will host low-altitude fireworks displays.

The Ha Noi People's Committee stated that the fireworks displays aim to stimulate pride and heroic spirit, and highlight the historical significance and revolutionary traditions of the city.

These events are intended to inspire and motivate the public to continue building a thousand-year-old civilized and heroic capital.

Activities to commemorate 70th Liberation Day

In addition to fireworks, there are about 50 activities and events, mainly in September and October to mark the 70th Liberation Day.

Among them are activities promoting the image of the capital and Viet Nam; gratitude activities to honor and appreciate the revolutionary contributors; seminars, exhibitions and conferences; renovating, restoring and attaching signs to cultural and spiritual venues and relics; organizing cultural - artistic performances; awarding the Ho Chí Minh Medals and honoring individuals in the "Good People, Good Deeds" and "Outstanding Capital Citizens" programs.

The local authorities will also organize number of activities towards the 70th anniversary.

These include contests with the theme "70 years of the Capital's Liberation Day" and "Ambassador - Reading Culture"; a film week commemorating the Liberation Day; launching literary and art writing contests on Ha Noi and the Liberation Day; organizing the Red River Delta Photo Festival, Peace and Culture Day, Ha Noi Marathon - Heritage Race, Ha Noi Open dragon boat racing; second Ha Noi Autumn Festival and Ha Noi Ao Dai (Long Dress) Tourism Festival./.
