Ha Noi maintains positive growth momentum during Jan-Sept

VGP - Ha Noi’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the third quarter of this year expanded by 8.2 percent year-on-year, official data showed.

During January-September period, the capital city's GRDP grew by 7.92 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Of the figure, the services sector increased by 8.74 percent year-on-year; the industry and construction sector by 7.03 percent; and the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector by 3.43 percent.

One of the most outstanding highlights is the city's total state budget revenue, which hit VND 499.9 trillion (nearly US$19 billion), equivalent to 97.3 percent of the annual target and a year-on-year increase of 32.5 percent.

In addition, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue attained over VND 702.2 trillion (US$26.6 billion), up 12.9 percent year-on-year. In the third quarter alone, the figure stood at VND 246.1 trillion (US$9.34 billion), up 7.3 percent from the previous quarter and 14 percent year-on-year.

Despite global political instability and trade policy shifts, industrial production has maintained a positive growth trend. In the third quarter of this year, the city's Industrial Production Index (IIP) rose by 8.1 percent year-on-year. For the first nine months, the city's IIP increased by 6.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

The city's total import-export turnover in the first nine months reached US$50 billion, up 13.7 percent year-on-year (exports up 12.1 percent, and imports up 14.5 percent).

In the January-September period, total social investment capital increased by 10.7 percent year-on-year. Remarkably, investment capital from the state budget under local management reached VND59.5 trillion (US$2.26 billion), the highest among localities nationwide, up 31.1 percent year-on-year.

Thanks to significant improvements in the investment and business environment, Ha Noi continues to be an attractive destination for foreign capital inflows.

In the first nine months of 2025, total FDI inflows to the city reached over US$3.89 billion, 2.9 times higher than the same period in 2024, including 301 new projects worth over US$307 million. A total number of 114 projects were added with investment capital totaling US$3.217 billion. There were 265 foreign investors contributing capital or purchasing shares, amounting to over US$373 million.

During the reviewed period, 3,063 new enterprises were established in the city, with total registered capital exceeding VND31.8 trillion (US$1.2 billion), up 90.1 percent.

The city granted certificates to nearly 25,000 newly established enterprises with total registered capital of VND271.7 trillion (US$10.3 billion), up 10.5 percent in number and 30.8 percent in registered capital compared to the same period last year./.
