Ha Noi has new Chairman

VGP - Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung on November 13 was elected as the Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 tenure.

In his remarks, Nguyen said, in the upcoming time, the city will give priority to review and complete the two-tier administration model, strengthen decentralization, streamline administrative procedures, and promote digital transformation.

He emphasized the need to create institutional breakthroughs to achieve the GDP growth target of over 11 percent in the next five years, based on fostering the development of science–technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

It is vital to develop a digital government, digital economy, and digital society, turning Ha Noi into the nation's center for innovation while improving the quality of human resources, said the Chairman.

The city will prioritize the development of modern–smart–green infrastructure, underground spaces, public facilities, transportation, healthcare, education, social housing, clean water, public spaces, and key development zones, stressed Nguyen.

He underlined the necessity of promoting a knowledge-based economy linked with the culture and the elegant and civilized character of Ha Noi's people.

It is necessary to enhance green growth and circular economy, while preserving and enhancing the historical and creative values of Thang Long–Ha Noi and ensuring social welfare.

He vowed to build a modern governance model with an administrative apparatus that is honest, professional, responsible, and innovative, placing citizens at the center of all policies.
