By 2025, Viet Nam targets to reduce the quotas of offshore fishing licenses by 10 percent in comparison with 2020.

Besides, all coastal cities and provinces will determine fishing quotas in coastal waters while all offshore fishing vessels will be installed with monitoring systems in accordance with regulations.

All fishing vessels will be provided with forecast bulletins serving for efficient fishing.

Fishing vessels without registration and testing certificate will be strictly fined.

Strict punishments will be applied to violations of fishing vessels related to illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Viet Nam's aquatic exports spiked 40 percent year-on-year to reach nearly US$5.8 billion in the first half of 2022, the Vietnamese Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) reported.

VASEP anticipated that aquatic exports will be likely to reach US$10 billion this year, up about 12 percent from 2021.
