General Secretary To Lam holds summit meeting CPP President Hun Sen in Phnom Penh

During the meeting, General Secretary To Lam praised the remarkable achievements Cambodia has gained in recent years. He expressed his confidence that under the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the leadership of the Senate, National Assembly and Government, and the unity of the Cambodian people, Cambodia will continue to develop robustly, improve living standards, and successfully build a peaceful, harmonious and cooperative nation with sustainable development.

To briefed Hun Sen on Viet Nam's current situation and the outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress. He expressed sincere gratitude for the enduring support of the late King Norodom Sihanouk, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni and the Cambodian people during Viet Nam's struggle for national independence and in its current process of national construction and defence.

In reply, Hun Sen warmly welcomed General Secretary To and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on their state visit to Cambodia, which took place shortly after the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV). He emphasized that the visit demonstrated the importance the CPV and Vietnamese leaders attach to the good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between the two countries.

Hun Sen congratulated Viet Nam on the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress and General Secretary To on his re-election. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of the CPV, Viet Nam would continue to achieve major accomplishments and fulfil the goals set by the Party, contributing to regional and global development.

He reaffirmed that Cambodia values and seeks to further strengthen bilateral relations, commended Viet Nam's socio-economic achievements, and expressed his hope that both sides would further open their markets to deepen economic cooperation and linkages.

The two sides also exchanged views on their respective development goals and orientations, with a view to enhancing coordination and joint development between Viet Nam and Cambodia, as well as among Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos.
