FM holds phone talks with Belarusian counterpart
VGP - Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei discussed bilateral relations over the phone on Friday on the occasion of the 30th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam-Belarus diplomatic ties.
Both diplomats expressed their delight at the two nations' fruitful relationship and the bilateral cooperation in the COVID-19 fight, consenting that the two nations will jointly organize practical activities to mark the 30th anniversary of their relations.
Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Bui affirmed Viet Nam's consistent stance that international disputes must be handled via peaceful means on the basis of respecting the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law as well as independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of nations.
They called on the parties to ensure security and safety for civilians and protect essential infrastructure and advocate humanitarian assistance activities of the UN and international partners to people affected by the conflict.
Viet Nam is willing to contribute to humanitarian relief activities, diplomatic processes, dialogues as well as reconstruction and recovery process in Ukraine, said the Vietnamese FM.
