EVN restores power supply to 99% of customers affected by Yagi typhoon
VGP - Power has been restored to over 6.03 million out of 6.1 million consumers affected by Typhoon Yagi and subsequent flooding.
As of September 17, 1,640 out of the 1,678 medium-voltage power lines that experienced outages due to the storm had been resumed, according to the State-owned Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) Group.
In the northern province of Quang Ninh, directly hit by the storm on September 7, electricity has been re-supplied for over 85 percent of the affected customers.
EVN units in northern Viet Nam are continuing to repair the damage caused by the storm and ensure full power restoration to the remainders as soon as possible.
Earlier, Typhoon Yagi impacted the medium and low voltage power grid across 15 northern cities and provinces, leaving more than 3 million customers without electricity as of 9 p.m. on September 7.
In Quang Ninh, hit hard by the storm, 12 medium voltage poles and 2 low voltage poles were knocked down, disrupting power for approximately 461,000 customers, according to the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC)./.
