He expressed his delight on achievements in Viet Nam-France relations, particularly in economy - one of the crucial pillars in the two countries' strategic partnership.

The Vietnamese leader lauded the active role played by the AFD via effectively carrying out development aid projects in Viet Nam since 1994, especially in fields of energy, climate change adaption and urban traffic.

Tran took the occasion to suggest the AFD should continue supporting and promoting collaboration with Viet Nam in implementing projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change, particularly at coastal areas and the Mekong Delta region.

Marie Helene Loison, for her part, reiterated that AFD would to continue the study on the socio-economic impacts of climate change in Viet Nam and strategies for adaptation (GEMMES).

The AFD would further assist Viet Nam in strengthening capacity for policy formulation and enhancing technology transfer and financial support in all spheres of green energy development, renewable energy, smart power transmission and green fuel production, she pledged.

Both sides vowed to enhance coordination in energy transition through effective realization of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JEPT)./.
