The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his deepest condolences to Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Ito Naoki and all officials and staff of the Embassy of Japan in Ha Noi.

In the condolence book, Bui wrote that the leaders and people of Viet Nam deeply mourn Mr. Murayama Tomiichi, a great and close friend of the Vietnamese leaders and people.

On behalf of the Government and people of Viet Nam, he conveyed sincere condolences to the Japanese Government, people, and the family of former Prime Minister.

The passing of former Prime Minister Murayama is not only a great loss for Japan, but also for the international community, including Viet Nam. The special affection and support he extended to the country and people of Viet Nam and the friendly relations between the two nations remain a priceless legacy.

The historic visit of the late Prime Minister to Viet Nam in 1994 as the Prime Minister of Japan opened many opportunities and ushered in a new stage of development in the friendly and cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and Japan, particularly in the fields of economics, culture, and people-to-people exchange, Bui highlighted.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Government and people of Viet Nam will always remember and cherish the special affection and great contributions of the late Prime Minister to Viet Nam.

Former Japanese Prime Minister passed away on October 17, 2025, at his hometown in Oita Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 101./.
