Deputy PM meets top Venezuelan legislator
VGP - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang met with President of the National Assembly of Venezuela Jorge Rodriguez in Caracas, Venezuela, on April 19, as part of his official visit to the Latin American nation.
The Venezuelan legislator expressed his belief that Tran's visit would create impetus for bolstering the comprehensive partnership between the two nations in a more intensive and effective manner.
Venezuela always considers Viet Nam as a close friend and expects to develop the friendship and cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation, said the Venezuelan legislator, adding that his country wishes to learn experiences of Viet Nam in opening the economy and diversifying relations with international partners.
Viet Nam is an example and a source of inspiration for Latin American nations in the struggle for national independence and the cause of economic development, bringing happiness to the people, shared the host.
Jorge Rodriguez asserted that the National Assembly of Venezuela always attaches importance to the relations with the Vietnamese National Assembly, hoping to enhance experience exchange and close coordination in legislation at international inter-parliamentary forums.
Tran, for his part, affirmed that Viet Nam regards Venezuela as one of its traditional friends and important partners in Latin America.
At international forums, Viet Nam will continue to enhance solidarity and voice its support for Venezuela, calling on countries to respect the basic principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, including respect for independence and sovereignty, and not to interfere with other countries' internal affairs, he reiterated.
He informed the host about the outcomes of his talks with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, during which both sides agreed on measures to promote the comprehensive partnership more effectively and substantively, particularly in terms of economics, trade and investment./.
