Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son

Bui affirmed Turkey is one of Viet Nam's most important partners in the Middle East, expressing his delight on the positive developments in the bilateral relationship, especially since Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Turkey in November 2023.

Economic cooperation is a highlight in the bilateral ties, with two-way trade value reaching US$2.4 billion in 2024, a 10 percent increase from 2023.

Among countries in the Middle East, Turkey remains the largest investor in Viet Nam, with total investment capital reaching US$1.74 billion in 2024, a 75 percent increase compared to 2023, said Bui.

Bui suggested that both sides work together in implementing priority cooperation areas, including the upgrade of Viet Nam-Turkey relations, and promotion of all-level delegation exchanges, especially at the high level.

He also urged the two sides to continue coordination and mutual support at international organizations, and enhance effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the joint committee and political consultation.

The Vietnamese official took the occasion to convey Prime Minister Pham's invitation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to soon pay an official visit to Viet Nam and attend the 4th Summit of the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G).

Fidan, for his part, affirmed that Turkey attaches importance to the relations with Viet Nam, a top partner of the nation in the Southeast Asia, adding that Turkey is actively accelerating the completion of upgrading the relations with Viet Nam in the upcoming time.

He spoke highly of Viet Nam's efforts in hosting the P4G, expressing his belief that the event will be organized successfully, which manifests the strong commitment of Viet Nam in joining hands with the international community in boosting green growth, climate change adaption and sustainable development./.
