Defense cooperation key pillar in Viet Nam - Laos ties
VGP - Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense, paid a courtesy visit to General Chansamone Chanyalath, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Laos, on April 10.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien expressed his delight at the results of comprehensive, substantive and practical cooperation between the two defense ministries over the past time.
Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that the two countries' defense ministries have closely coordinated and implemented many vital contents, achieving good results since the beginning of 2023.
Specifically, the two sides successfully organized the 3rd Viet Nam - Laos Defense Policy Dialogue in Laos' Hua Phan province (March 2023), gave scholarships to students and attended the Young Border Guard Exchange program, to name but a few.
General Chansamone Chanyalath warmly welcomed Hoang to visit his country, thereby tightening the special traditional friendship between the two countries and discussing directions for the 2023 Cooperation Plan.
Chansamone Chanyalath suggested the two defense ministries strengthen education for military personnel, especially the young generation, to deeply understand the special solidarity relationship between Viet Nam and Laos.
On the occasion of the Bun Pi May Festival of the Lao people, Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien sent his best wishes to the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and all officers and soldiers of the Lao People's Army.
He also conveyed congratulations from General Phan Van Van Giang, Minister of National Defense of Viet Nam, to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Chansamone Chanyalath./.
