Czech Prime Minister hosts official welcome ceremony for Vietnamese counterpart
VGP - Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on Monday hosted an official welcome ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh who is on a three-day visit to the European country.
The visits kick-starts a series of events marking the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic (1950-2025).
The Czech Republic has always supported Viet Nam in its past struggle for national liberation and unification as well as the current cause of national construction and protection while Viet Nam always attaches importance to advancing the traditional friendship and cooperation with the Czech Republic.
Both sides have maintained regular exchange of visits at all levels and cooperation mechanisms and supported each other at multilateral forums.
The Czech Republic is the top trading partner of Viet Nam in Central and Eastern Europe and Viet Nam is the most important partner of the Czech Republic in ASEAN.
The two-way trade reached around US$2 billion in 2024. The Czech Republic has 41 valid investment projects in Viet Nam with total registered capital of US$91 million.
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic currently has about 100,000 people, the 3rd largest ethnic minority community in the Czech Republic and also the 3rd largest Vietnamese community in Europe, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam./.
