Culture and Tourism Festival opens in Bac Lieu
VGP - The Bac Lieu Provincial Culture and Tourism Festival opened on November 27 at Hung Vuong Square, featuring around 500 artists and performers from across the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and leaders of ministries, central agencies and branches; leaders of many provinces and cities throughout the country, along with many officials and residents of Bac Lieu province and neighboring provinces, attended the opening ceremony.
Addressing the event, Secretary of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee Lu Van Hung stated that Bac Lieu Culture - Tourism Festival was one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bac Lieu province's re-establishment (1/1/1997-1/1/ 2022).
This festival demonstrated the efforts of the entire Party Committee, government and people of Bac Lieu province, to restore and develop socio-economics after a long time being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Notably, an art space was staged to honour UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritages in different regions throughout the country, including Ca Tru (ceremonial singing), the gong cultural space of Central Highlanders, Bai Choi folk singing of Southerners, and love duet (Quan Ho) singing.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam hailed the festival as one of the moves Bac Lieu Province made to realise Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's direction at the National Cultural Conference held last year to preserve and further promote cultural heritages.
The three-day festival features various activities, including a trade promotion conference, a festival highlighting the province's iconic shrimp and salt products, and a survey to develop new tourist products for Bac Lieu Province./.
