Construction of Long Thanh Int'l Airport terminal must begin in August

The construction of a passenger terminal at Long Thanh International Airport is part of 25 key national transport projects.
The airport, located in southern Dong Nai province, is designed to become Viet Nam's largest airport.
It has a total investment of VND336.63 trillion (US$14.232 billion) and is divided into three phases.
In the first phase, a runway and one passenger terminal along with other supporting facilities will be built at a cost of VND109.1 trillion (US$4.6 billion) to serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo each year.
Once fully completed by 2050, the airport will be able to handle 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo annually.
Viet Nam to have 1,852 km of expressways by this year's end
Viet Nam kicked off construction of 1,332 km of expressway since the beginning of this year, according to the Ministry of Transport.
In the second quarter, additional 312 km opened to traffic raising the total length of highways in the country to 1,729 km. The figure is expected to increase to 1,852 km by the end of this year.
The Government set ambitious goal of raising the total length of expressways to 5,000 km by 2030.
The planned expressways include the North-South axis with two roads, one running from Lang Son to Ca Mau with a length of about 2,063 km and another road with a length of about 1,205 km, with 4-6 lanes.
In the Northern region, there will be 14 roads, totaling about 2,305 km, with 4-6 lanes. The Central Region-Central Highlands will have 10 roads, about 1,431 km in length, with 4-6 lanes. The Southern region will consist of 10 expressways, about 1,290 km in length, with 4-10 lanes.
The capital city of Ha Noi will have three routes, totaling about 425 km, with 4-6 lanes while the southern metropolis Ho Chi Minh City will have two routes, about 295 km in length, with 4-8 lanes./.
