Con Dao National Park enters IUCN Green List
VGP - Con Dao National Park in the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City made its way to the Green List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), a title for protected and conserved areas that demonstrate effective, transparent, and sustainable management.

Con Dao is the 101st national park worldwide and the 3rd site in Viet Nam to receive this recognition, after Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve (Ninh Binh) and Cat Tien National Park (Dong Nai).
According to IUCN, the Green List is not merely an "honorary certificate" but an objective measure based on international criteria for effectiveness, transparency, and equity in protected area management.
To achieve this recognition, Con Dao National Park underwent a rigorous evaluation process, with the participation of independent experts, conservation organizations, and representatives of the local community.
The park covers more than 15,000 hectares of land and 14,000 hectares on the sea surface, with many ecosystems of mangrove, coral reefs, and seagrass beds, as well as rare plants and animals. There are more than 1,000 species of flora and 155 forest animals.
