Businesses also exchanged five cooperation documents on economic matters at the Viet Nam-Cambodia Business Forum 2026.
The newspaper noted that the visit would help reinforce political trust and deepen economic integration between the two neighboring countries.

Their discussions covered a broad range of areas, including political relations, national defense and security, economy, trade and investment, agriculture, energy, education and vocational training, infrastructure connectivity and tourism. Both sides also exchanged views on promoting people-to-people exchanges and youth engagement among border provinces.
According to the article, data from Cambodia's General Department of Customs and Excise showed that Cambodia exported nearly US$3 billion worth of goods to Viet Nam in the first eight months of 2026, up 7.6 percent year on year.
Viet Nam was also among Cambodia's major sources of international tourists, with more than one million Vietnamese visitors recorded in 2025. The number of Cambodian visitors to Viet Nam also rose sharply, increasing 45 percent in 2025 compared with the previous year, as more Cambodians travelled to Viet nam for tourism and healthcare services.
