This is the Vietnamese leader's first official visit to Cambodia. The visit takes place four months after Prime Minister Hun Manet's official visit to Viet Nam.

Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders will hold summit meeting, during which both sides are expected to discuss specific measures to effectively implement high-level agreements and commitments, with a view to injecting fresh momentum into Viet Nam-Cambodia cooperation and making contribution to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

In recent years, political trust between Viet Nam and Cambodia has continued to be strengthened via regular high-level exchanges and contacts, notably General Secretary and President To Lam's state visit to Cambodia and Prime Minister Hun Manet's official visit to Viet Nam.

Trade, investment and tourism remain important drivers of bilateral relations. In 2025, the two-way trade reached US$11.33 billion, up 11.7 percent from 2024.

Viet Nam has poured nearly US$3.4 billion in 223 projects in Cambodia, making Cambodia Viet Nam's second-largest overseas investment destination./.
