Buddhist woodblocks in Bac Giang honored by UNESCO
VGP - The northern province of Bac Giang on October 6 held a grand ceremony, with the participation of many senior leaders, to receive a UNESCO certificate recognizing woodblocks at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda as part of the world documentary heritage of the Asia-Pacific region.

At the ceremony, Bac Giang’s vestiges of the base of an early 20th-century uprising against the French colonialists by Hoang Hoa Tham was also certified by the Government as a special national historical site.
The Government has also recognized 16 communes in Hiep Hoa District as the 2nd revolutionary base where many senior officials of the Party sheltered during the anti-French resistance war.
