Bac Ninh continues leading export value in October

VGP - The northern province of Bac Ninh reported nearly US$4.3 billion in export revenue in October, surpassing Ho Chi Minh City for the second month in a row in terms of export revenue, according to the Viet Nam Customs.

In the last month, Ho Chi Minh City - Viet Nam's biggest economic reported an export turnover of US$3.7 billion.

Meanwhile, other industrial hubs such as Bac Giang, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ha Noi, Hai Phong and Thai Nguyen recorded earned an export turnover of US$1 billion each in October.

Viet Nam's total trade value was estimated at US$558 billion in the first ten months, representing a year-on-year decline of 9.6 percent, equivalent to US$59.49 billion.

Specifically, export volume dipped 7.1 percent or US$22 billion to US$291.3 billion in comparison with the same period last year.

Import value decreased by 2.3 percent, equivalent to US$37.27 billion to US$266.67 billion against the same period last year.

The U.S. remained the biggest export market of Viet Nam with an export turnover of US$78.65 billion, down 15.8 percent against the same period last year./.
