Ambassador highlights significance of Prime Minister’s attendance at WEF Tianjin Meeting
VGP - As a special guest, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the opening ceremony of WEF Tianjin Meeting and deliver a keynote speech at a key session titled “Is Asia’s Century at Risk?” said Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh.

Ambassador Pham made the above statement ahead of the Prime Minister's participation in the 16th WEF Annual Meeting of the New Champions and his working visit to China from June 24 to 27.
The Ambassador said that the Vietnamese Prime Minister will also conduct bilateral meetings with leaders of other countries, WEF executives, and global business leaders.
He noted that the attendance reflects the WEF and international business community's strong appreciation for Viet Nam's growing stature, active role, and contributions to global and regional economic growth.
During the event, Pham will present Viet Nam's perspectives on global economic challenges and opportunities, share the country's development experiences, and propose initiatives to foster regional cooperation. He will reaffirm Viet Nam's commitment to sustainable growth and showcase the nation's strategic vision, investment potential, and dynamism as a rising market economy.
He will also emphasize the Government's efforts to enhance the business environment through institutional, infrastructure, financial, and human resource reforms. Priority investment sectors will include artificial intelligence, automation, biotechnology, clean energy, infrastructure, and financial services.
Viet Nam's participation at the forum affirms its active role and sense of responsibility in promoting peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and beyond. The country seeks to contribute to global discussions on pressing economic and development issues, gain insights into emerging trends, and share its own strategic outlook—especially in the context of implementing four major Party resolutions that mark a pivotal stage in national transformation and development.
Through engagements with global and regional stakeholders, Viet Nam will further promote its image, policy orientations, and development goals. These interactions are expected to open up new avenues for cooperation, particularly in trade diversification and foreign investment, as Viet Nam adapts to a rapidly evolving global economic landscape.
The Prime Minister's working visit to China also holds significant importance. It is the first official visit to China by a high-ranking Vietnamese leader in 2025, following the successful state visit to Viet Nam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping in April. The visit also coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the launch of the Year of Viet Nam–China Humanistic Exchange.
Amid an increasingly complex and unpredictable global political and economic landscape, this year's WEF Tianjin Meeting is a major international event. It will gather leaders from various countries, more than 100 ministerial-level officials, and over 1,700 participants from businesses, international organizations, and academia.
Under the theme "Entrepreneurship for a New Era," discussions will center on critical topics such as global economic trends, China's economic outlook, industrial transformation, smart manufacturing, investment in people and the planet, and the shift toward new energy sources and materials./.
