Agro-forestry-aquatic exports post trade surplus of over US$10 billion
VGP - Viet Nam’s agro-forestry-aquatic product exports enjoyed a trade surplus of US$10.55 billion over the last 11 months of the year, up nearly 34 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) reported.
During January-November, the sector's exports raked in US$47.84 billion while its imports reached US$37.29 billion.
The export revenue of aquatic products hit US$8.24 billion, a drop of 18.9 percent, and that of forestry products dropped 17 percent to US$13.02 billion.
Six items recorded the export value exceeding US$3 billion, namely coffee, rice, vegetables, cashews, shrimps, and timber.
In the 11 months, the agro-forestry-aquatic product export values to Asia increased by 6.8 percent. Meanwhile, the exports to America, Europe, Africa and Oceania fell by 17.7 percent, 12.5 percent, 21.7 percent and 13.5 percent, respectively.
China, the U.S., and Japan remained the three largest importers of Viet Nam's agro-forestry-aquatic products.
In November alone, the country earned US$4.79 billion from exporting agro-forestry-aquatic products, a year-on-year rise of 13 percent./.
