The Government chief made the point in Ha Noi on December 18 while receiving 70 young entrepreneur representatives who have been honoured in the Red Star Awards, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the award.

The Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs Association (VYEA) reported that after 20 years of development, its membership hit  over 10,000 in all 63 localities and it business enterprises generated over 3 million jobs and yearly earned over US$ 25 billion in turnover.

The Red Star Awards have been organized 11 times; selected and hornored nearly 400 standout young entrepreneurs of whom 107 were awarded.

In 2019, 98 Vietnamese young representative entrepreneurs were selected and ten outstanding ones were given the Red Star Awards. Enterprises of the young representative entrepreneurs earned VND 109 trillion of revenue in 2018 and pocketed nearly VND 7 trillion; generated 64,560 jobs. Especially, enterprises of the ten Red Star Awards winners gained VND 55 trillion turnover in 2018.

Addressing the reception, PM Phuc called upon on young entrepreneurs to make greater efforts to develop big enterprises and global brands, contributing to converting Viet Nam into a powerful country.

He said that meetings with Red Star Award winners should be organized regularly as a channel for the business community to make recommendations to the Government.

The PM underscored that Viet Nam has achieved significant socio-economic outcomes this year thanks to concerted efforts of the Party, Government and business community.

He took the occasion to call on entrepreneurs to make full use of the digital economy as it holds huge potential for growth, and boost application of scientific-technological achievements, especially artificial intelligence.

The PM hoped that entrepreneurs in general and Red Star Award winners in particular will make suggestions to the Government on institutional reform for innovation and stronger development.

He also asked relevant agencies and localities to continue to create favourable conditions for young Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the time to come./.
