World Bank: VN’s Getting electricity improves for 6th consecutive year
VGP – Viet Nam’s getting electricity index continues to improve and contribute significantly to the national economy’s competitiveness indicators, according to the World Bank’s newly released Doing Business ranking.

Accordingly, Viet Nam continues to report improvements in the area of getting electricity for the 6th consecutive year with 88.2 points, an increase of 0.26 points from the previous year (87.94 points).
The getting electricity indicators measure the procedures, time and cost required for a business to obtain a permanent electricity connection; the reliability of power supply and the transparency of the price of electricity.
Viet Nam ranks fourth in the ASEAN region concerning the area of getting electricity, while maintaining its 27th ranking among the total 190 countries and economies.
According to the WB report, Viet Nam continues to sit 2nd among the ASEAN nations in terms of the procedures and time of the electricity sector. Compared to the other signatories to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Viet Nam’s getting electricity index ranks among the top four countries.
