Water level rises to 65-year high in Yen Bai's Thao River
VGP – The water level in Yen Bai province's Thao River has risen to 65-year high due to prolonged heavy rain caused by typhoon Yagi.

As of 5 a.m. on September 10, the river's water level reached 35.22 m, exceeding the floodwater level recorded in 1968.
Authorities had to evacuate at least 3,500 households in Yen Bai city had to safe places due to rising water level in the Red River.
The water level in Cau River also reached 28.81 m, surpassing the highest-ever water level 65 years ago.
Water levels continue to rise in major rivers in Northern Viet Nam, leading to widespread inundation in several mountainous localities.
Over the next two to three days, rain and flood will continue complex evolution in the northern and central regions, with the rainfall anticipated to range from 120-250mm, or even up to 600mm in some localities, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting./.
