The award for the best news image went to the reportage "Overcoming difficulties to teach during the epidemic" by two reporters from the News Department, Viet Nam Television, Thanh Thao and Trong Duc.

The reporters made this report at the beginning of 2022 when the COVID-19 epidemic was still tense. Schools must learn online, making it even more challenging to maintain schools in remote areas.

From realistic camera angles, viewers could clearly feel the extraordinary efforts of the teachers accompanying the remote villages. The ABU jury appreciated the touching footage of teachers who overcame numerous difficulties to maintain direct learning in schools in remote areas.

In the context that the epidemic limited many news activities, the reporters successfully captured inspirational images that conveyed a strong message, motivating teachers and students in the highlands to develop further.

Taking place for the first time after two years of the epidemic, the award ceremony was an opportunity for hundreds of radio and television reporters and producers from nearly 30 members of ABU to share their experiences.

The theme of this year's discussions - "Truth and Trust", in times of crisis, emphasized the role of the mainstream media in creating trust among the public, combating fake news, and contributing to social stability.
