VP Bank tops rank for asset growth in ASEAN

VGP- The Viet Nam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) has topped the rank for asset growth in ASEAN, according to the Banker.

Viet Nam’s banks stood out in terms of asset growth, with VPBank coming out on top with a 35.02% increase, followed by local competitors the Saigon Commercial Bank and the Shinhan Bank Viet Nam, which expanded by 34.22% and 33.32%, respectively.

The VPBank has focused on growths in terms of scale and quality, said its annual report in 2015.

In first quarter of 2016, the bank’s total deposit and lending remained VND129,000 billion and VND115,000 billion, respectively, an unchanged figure compared to the 2015.

As of the first quarter of 2016, the charter capital of VP Bank has increased by VND1,100 billion to VND9,181 billion.

Viet Nam’s lenders are picking up speed, as they post the second highest growth by country in the Top 100 Asean banks ranking.
