VN’s coffee export turnover sets new record
VGP – Viet Nam exported 1.36 million tons of coffee, pocketing US$2.85 billion in the first nine months of 2012 and becoming the largest coffee exporter in the world.

As of early third quarter of 2012, the nation’s export value and turnover of coffee exceeded achievements of last year and the goal set for the whole year. The nation is expected to export around 1.6-1.7 million tons of coffee in 2012.
In the crop of 2011-2012, three new records have been made in terms of output (1.6 million tons), export turnover (1.6 million tons) and export value (US$3 billion).
The largest coffee importers of Viet Nam are Germany (accounting for 12.3%) and the US (12.2%). Especially, in the period of January-September, the coffee export turnover to Indonesia increased nine times compared to the same period in 2011.
China is also a promising market which imported 103,900 tons of Viet Nam’s coffee in 2007-2011. In the first half of 2012, China imported 15,000 tons of coffee from Viet Nam, worth US$31.88 million.
