VN wins medals at int’l chemistry Olympiad

VGP - All four Vietnamese students at the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held in Azerbaijan from July 20-29, won prizes, including one gold, two silvers and one bronze.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the gold medal winner is 12th grader Dinh Tuan Hoang from the Ha Noi – Amsterdam Gifted High School, the two silver medals went to 12th graders Pham Thai Ha from the Ha Noi – Amsterdam Gifted High School and Tran Dinh Hieu from the Bac Ninh province’s Gifted High School, the bronze medalist is 12th grader Nguyen Thuy Hang from Hung Vuong Gifted High School in Phu Tho province.

Viet Nam ranked eighth in the medal tally of the Olympiad, which attracted 294 students from 79 countries and territories.

On July 31, the Ministry of Education and Training will hold a ceremony at the Noi Bai International Airport to honour the students.

In 2014, Vietnamese students won two gold and two silver medals at the 46th competition which was held in Viet Nam.
