VN vows to work with EC in IUU fishing, Spokeswoman says
VGP – Viet Nam vows to work with the European Commission in combatting illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told a room of reporters Thursday.

Hang made the statement at a press conference Thursday, ahead of a working working visit by a delegation of the European Union from November 4-14 to review the Southeast Asian country’s efforts in this matter.
During the visit, the delegation is expected to make courtesy call on senior Vietnamese leaders, work with Vietnamese competent authorities and visit some localities to evaluate the implementation of recommendations on IUU fishing.
Over the past time, Vietnamese competent authorities from central to local levels have drastically deployed measures to develop fisheries in a sustainable and responsible manner on the basis of the European Commission’s recommendations and have achieved positive outcomes./.
