VN to join COP 17 in South Africa

VGP – The Prime Minister has assigned Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Trần Hồng Hà to partake in the 17th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 17) and the 7th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP7).

Earlier, the Government chief granted a permission for the establishment of a Vietnamese delegation to the COP 17 and CMP7 which are scheduled on November 28 – December 9, 2011 in Durban, South Africa.

Under the theme “Working together saving tomorrow today”, COP17 will focus on food security and agricultural development.

The event is expected to attract over 15,000 representatives from 194 countries and territories, which are members of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change./.
