VN, Singapore enhance anti-corruption cooperation
VGP - A delegation from the Government Inspectorate of Viet Nam, led by Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh, is on a working visit in Singapore from September 3-6 at the invitation of Singapore’s Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) Director Wong Hong Kuan.

The Vietnamese delegation learnt about the strategies and experiences in anti-corruption of Singapore as well as the way to build codes of conducts and professional ethics to prevent conflicts of interest in public services sector and communications to raise awareness of people about anti-corruption.
Inspector General Tranh highly praised experiences of Singapore in the fight against corruption and said that they were valuable, typical and practical experiences for Viet Nam.
He said that the fight against corruption had been boosted in Viet Nam and would consider applying experiences of Singapore to Viet Nam.
He believed that the strategic partnership between the two countries would further develop for an ASEAN community and a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable developed ASEAN.
For his part, CPIB Director Wong Hong Kuan said that the MoU signed between the two agencies was the first of its kind between CPIB and a foreign agency. He also appreciated the cooperation activities from the MoU.
CPIB is an agency under Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office. A survey conducted in 2013 showed that 77 percent of the members of the public agreed that CPIB was effective in keeping corruption low in Singapore.
