Mr. Binh made the point while meeting with WB Group President Jim Yong Kim on February 23 in Ha Noi.

President Jim Yong Kim praised SBV’s drastic and effective regulation of the monetary policies and the banking restructuring which contributed significantly to macro-economic stability and growth.

Mr. Jim Yong Kim also affirmed that the WB will support VietNam in building a road map to shift preferential loans from the International Development Association (IDA) to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to ensure the national budget’s sustainable payment capacity.

The WB said the President will stand by Viet Nam in the development path and focus its resources on helping Viet Nam realise the 12th National Party Congress’s guideline and orientations as well as the Viet Nam 2035 Report.

For his part, Governor Binh pledged that Viet Nam will effectively use loans from the World Bank for its socio-economic development and poverty reduction plan in accordance with the bank’s general development goals.

Earlier, the WB Group President was separately received by top Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang and PM Nguyen Tan Dung./.
