VN, Philippines step towards bilateral open skies

VGP- Việt Nam and the Philippines have agreed to allow their airlines to increase the number of seats on flights from Hồ Chí Minh City and Hà Nội City to Manila and Cebu, making a step closer to their bilateral open skies.

September 22, 2011 2:53 PM GMT+7

Under the aviation agreement signed by the two sides last week, the number of seats on flights to the 4 destinations each week is 6,000, including 2,650 for the Hồ Chí Minh City-Manila route, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of Việt Nam.

Two Filipino airlines, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific, conduct daily flights between Hồ Chí Minh City and Manila. Vietnam Airlines has yet established any direct flights between Việt Nam and the Philippines.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of Việt Nam, Việt Nam has signed bilateral open skies agreements with Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. The country will do the same with other ASEAN members in the coming time.
