VN offers 5,000 tons of rice to Cuba

VGP – Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Lianys Torres Rivera expressed thanks to the Party, State and people of Viet Nam for having offered 5,000 tons of rice to her country, during her meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday.

The diplomat congratulated the Southeast Asian nation on its success in the fight against COVID-19, saying she feels safe in Viet Nam.

She affirmed Cuba stands ready to cooperate with Viet Nam in developing drugs for COVID-19 treatment as well as other pharmaceutical products.

Meanwhile, PM Phuc extended thanks for Cuba’s early decision to provide assistance for COVID-19 prevention and control and spoke highly of the two countries’ cooperation in this fight so far.

The Government chief affirmed that the Party, State and people of Viet Nam will spare no efforts to nurturing the traditional ties and solidarity with Cuba and deepening the ties in a practical and effective manner./.
