PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday in Vientiane met with Myanmar Vice President Sai Mauk Kham to exchange ways to cement and deepen the bilateral ties.

The two leaders agreed to strengthen reciprocal visits at all levels to practically strengthen the relations.

They noted the need for closer coordination at regional and international forums especially ASEAN, the UN and sub-region mechanisms like ACMECS, CLMV, GMS and EWEC.

They also agreed to work with other ASEAN member states to push up the central role of ASEAN on regional issues including the East Sea.

PM Dung affirmed that Viet Nam strongly supports Myanmar as the ASEAN Chair in 2014 and hopes that Myanmar would early become a member of the Mekong River Commission.

For his part, the Vice President hailed Viet Nam’s contributions to regional peace and stability and the building of the ASEAN Community./.
