VN launches project on ICT

VGP – A video-conference between Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and 63 provinces and cities’ Departments of Information and Communications was recently organized for launching a project on turning Việt Nam into a strong ICT country.

The project was ratified by PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on September 22, 2010 with the aim to developing human resources for ICT, ICT industry and broadband communications, popularizing information, ICT application, establishment of ICT businesses and ICT market promotion till 2015 and 2020.

The MIC asked localities to strengthen information, improve the awareness of agencies and businesses of the project as well as to raise the people’s habit of using IT.

Localities need to set up and implement mechanisms and policies to create favorable environment for ICT investment.

Besides, the application of IT needs to be promoted in mountainous areas.
