The new patients include three in Ha Noi and Quang Ngai Province and two others returning from Mexico.

Patient 785 is a 42-year old man residing in Hoa Duc District, Ha Noi.

He visited Da Nang City with his family from July 16-20. On August 3, he had cough. Three days later, he was hospitalized in the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Ha Noi and was tested positive for the virus on August 7.

Patient 786-787 are residents in the central province of Quang Ngai. They had contact with the previously-announced COVID-19 patients.

All of these three COVID-19 community cases are linked to Da Nang City.

Patient 788-789 are imported cases who joined the flight VJ7837 from Mexico (transit in Japan) to Cam Ranh Airport in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province on August 5.

They got their sample collected by the Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control on August 6. The samples were then sent to Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang and the outcomes released the following day showed that they were positive for the virus.

The patients have been treated at Khanh Hoa Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

At present, 395 among 789 COVID-19 infection cases have been cleared of the virus, accounting for 50.1%.

The nation has recorded 10 COVID-19 deaths so far.
