VN, China sign agreement on anti-human trafficking

VGP – Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Lê Hồng Anh and his Chinese counterpart Meng Jianzhu on Wednesday in Beijing, China, jointly inked a cooperation agreement on prevention and control of human trafficking.

The agreement was sealed at the second anti-crime conference between the two Ministries of Public Security.

The two sides reviewed their bilateral cooperation in combating cross-border crimes, trafficking of women and children, smuggling, terrorism, drug trafficking and other security issues of common concern.

Vietnamese Minister Lê Hồng Anh highlighted the significance of the conference which took place while the two neighbor countries were marking the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and the Việt Nam-China Friendship Year. 

He called on the two sides’ police forces to cement and deepen their cooperation in combating crimes and maintaining security and order in each country.

For his part, Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu suggested the two sides enhance coordination to train staff and hold regular meetings to share experience and orientations of cooperation. 

Both sides agreed to hold at the third anti-crime conference in Việt Nam./.
