VN, Cambodia shake hands in anti-drug trafficking

VGP – Vietnamese and Cambodian leaders discussed and agreed to foster the bilateral ties in anti-drug trafficking in the time to come.

Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng on June 9 in Hồ Chí Minh City hosted the Cambodian counterpart, Head of the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) Ke Kim Yan who is leading the first NACD delegation to Việt Nam.

Deputy PM Ke Kim Yan expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese Government and relevant agencies for their support to Cambodia in the fight against drug trafficking through such activities as training manpower, founding the legal corridor, and building detoxification centers.

The two leaders were unanimous in holding an annual meeting and cementing ties between Việt Nam’s National Committee for AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution Control and the Cambodia’s NACD.

Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng reiterated that Việt Nam will make every effort to help Cambodia fight against drug frauds.

In the near future, Việt Nam will dispatch experienced experts to assist Cambodia build community-based rehabilitation centers.
