VN attaches importance to ties with China
VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc reiterated that Viet Nam always attaches importance to maintaining and developing the friendly neighborliness and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.

PM Phuc stressed that advancing the ties with China is a consistent policy, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Viet Nam’s foreign policy adopted at the 13th National Party Congress.
He affirmed Viet Nam wishes and stands ready to work with China to further enhance political trust, coordinate well on international and regional issues of shared concerns, effectively implement the high-level common perceptions on sea-related issues, respect each other’s legitimate interests on the basis of compliance with international law, and actively contribute to the maintenance of peace and the promotion of cooperation and development in the region and the world.
He welcomed the outcomes of the working session between Zhao and Vietnamese counterpart To Lam earlier the same day and spoke highly of the outcomes of cooperation between the two countries’ public security forces in combatting crime and ensuring political security.
The Vietnamese leader asked the Chinese Ministry of Public Security to facilitate the two countries’ economic and trade links and maintain the shared borderline of peace, friendship, stability, and development
PM Phuc took the occasion to express thanks for China’s active cooperation and support for Viet Nam’s proposals and initiatives during the latter’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020.
Viet Nam highly valued China’s great efforts in containing the COVID-19 pandemic and bolstering economic recovery, said PM Phuc.
For his part, Zhao conveyed Premier Li Keqiang’s Lunar New Year’s greetings and congratulations to PM Phuc on the success of the 13th National Party Congress.
In reply, PM Phuc offered the best wishes to Chinese Party General Secretary and State President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
The same day, the Ministries of Public Security of Viet Nam and China convened their seventh meeting on crime prevention and fight in Ha Noi.
The meeting is an important event in bilateral ties, which seeks to further promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in the fields of national security, crime prevention and combat, and protection of social order and safety.
The event also offers a chance for both sides to evaluate the outcomes of the two ministries’ cooperation agreements since the previous meeting in Beijing in October 2018, and set out measures to strengthen cooperation until 2022./.
