Vitamin A supplementation campaign covers 6 million children
VGP - Around 6 million children are expected to benefit from campaign which was launched last week to supplement Vitamin A for children aged six to 59 months, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Especially, children aged from six months to 59 months got vitamin A supplement in 31 provinces and cities with high rate of malnutrition.
In addition, in the rest of 32 localities, children aged from six months to 35 months were given vitamin A supplement.
In 22 provinces and cities facing difficulties, children from 24 months to 59 months got access to both vitamin A and deworming sponsored by Vitamin Angels.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong ha, Chairman of the National Committee for Children launched the Action Month for Children 2024 in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on June 1.
The action month aims to improve infrastructure, welfare facilities, social services, health care, and education for children, especially in disadvantaged, ethnic minority, border, and maritime areas./.
