Vinh city’s planning to 2030 adjusted

Accordingly, Vinh city will become a type-I city, a locomotive for ensuring growth and realizing key tasks in economic development of Nghe An province and the north central region. It will also be the region’s center for finance, trade, tourism, science, technology, IT, hi-tech industry, health care, culture, sports, education and training, playing an important role in security and national defence and being a national and international transportation hub.

The planned city will be 150 square kilometers large, covering Vinh city, Cua Lo town and parts of Nghi Loc and Hung Nguyen districts.

The 2030 population is forecast around 900,000 people, including 450,000 labor force, accounting for a half of the population.

The city will be developed in a model of non-centralized ecological urban area in which the city, rural areas and the nature will be combined in four parts, including three part for developing urban areas and one outlaying part.
