Vinamilk opens first European-standard dairy farm in Lam Dong

CEO of the Viet Nam Dairy Products Company (Vinamilk) Mai Kieu Lien said the farm reflects efforts for clean and sustainable production and there will be more like this to be built in the future.

Vinamilk wants Vietnamese consumers to enjoy high-quality products at reasonable prices, she stated.

Phase one of the farm began in 2014 with a herd of 500 dairy cows. It became the first farm in Viet Nam certified to a EU standard last year, when the Dutch Control Union inspected and licensed its operations as organic.

In June 2016, the company’s organic milk was certified in compliance with USDA standards.

The dairy cows on the farm are free-range and organic fed, with open housing systems. Crops are rotated to ensure the soil is replenished with no use of chemicals or non-organic fertilizers.
