This year, the Nikkei Asia Prizes recognize two individuals and an organization that, through their work in specific fields, benefit the region as a whole.
Awarded annually, the Prizes honour outstanding achievements that contribute to the region's sustainable development and to the creation of a better future for Asia.
Nikkei Inc. established the awards in 1996 in celebration of its 120th anniversary. It publishes Japan's leading business newspaper. They honor contributions to the region in three fields: economic and business innovation; science, technology and environment; and culture and community.
